Hyderabad: A woman who went missing from her house in Lalapet in Lalaguda was found dead in the Raigir pond in Yadadri-Bhongir district, police said on Friday. She is suspected to have died by suicide.

The woman, identified as K. Geetha Rani (34), from Lalapet Housing Board Colony, worked as a Human Resource recruiter at a job consultancy in the city. On Wednesday afternoon, she left the house informing she was going to the bank, but did not return. Relatives, unable to find her, lodged a complaint with the Lalaguda police.

As the police was investigating, information came late on Thursday that the body of an unidentified woman was found in the Raigir pond. Police said she was identified from her mobile phone, purse and photo which she had kept near the pond. Relatives too later confirmed her identity. The Lalaguda police will alter the missing case to a suicide case and continue investigation.
