Woman murdered for silver anklets in Chevella, feet chopped off

Hyderabad: A woman was brutally murdered and her feet were chopped off by unidentified persons allegedly for her silver anklets at Chevella in Rangareddy district on Wednesday.
According to police, the body of Erukali Maisamma (48), a resident of Dharmasagar village, was found in a pool of blood on government land near Erlapally village along the Chevella-Shankarpally road in the afternoon.
Police suspect that unidentified assailants slit her throat with a sharp weapon and later chopped off her legs near the ankles to steal the silver ornaments she was wearing before fleeing the spot.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s son Suresh, the Chevella police registered a case and took up investigation. A CLUES team, fingerprint experts and a dog squad collected evidence from the crime scene.
Senior officers, including ACP B Kishan and DCP Yogesh Gautam, visited the spot.
Taking the sensational murder case seriously, Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi formed four special teams to trace and arrest the suspects at the earliest.
