Woman real estate agent arrested for duping customer by reselling asset in Adilabad

Adilabad: A woman real estate agent was arrested for allegedly duping the public by registering assets twice here on Thursday.
Mavala Inspector Karre Swamy, in a statement, said that Chintalapalli Ashalatha (62) from the town was apprehended for duping a retired TGRTC employee, Iqbal Ahmed, by illegally selling a house site which was registered in the name of Dr Mahesh in 1996. Ashalatha was also alleged to have threatened Iqbal for questioning the delay in registering the asset.
During interrogation, Ashalatha confessed to committing the crime to make quick money. She admitted to reselling the plot to the customer with the help of her husband. She disclosed that she was targeting employees. A case was registered against her based on a complaint received from Iqbal, and she was sent to judicial remand.
