Woman, son attempt suicide at Nizamabad Collectorate

Gangakishan had approached local revenue and police official and complained that ZPTC’s husband Lakshmi Narsaiah was trying to occupy their land.

Nizamabad: A woman and her son made a suicide attempt by pouring petrol on themselves at the Nizamabad collectorate on Monday, alleging harassment by the husband of ZPTC member.
Gangavva and her son Gadila Gangakishan, residents of Yanampally village of Dichpally Mandal, alleged that Lakshmi Narsaiah, husband of local ZPTC member occupied their land and had been harassing them physically and mentally for three years.

Gangakishan had approached local revenue and police official and complained that ZPTC’s husband Lakshmi Narsaiah was trying to occupy their land. But due to political pressure, no one came forward in support of them.


On Sunday, he tried to damage the borders of their land forcefully. Worried over this, Gangakishan and his mother arrived at the Nizamabad collectorate along with a petrol bottle and attempted suicide.

But the security staff snatched the petrol bottle and matchbox from their hands when they pouring petrol on their body. Later, Nizamabad Collector C Narayana Reddy met them and assured Gangakishan and his mother that they would be given justice.
