Hyderabad: The Shankarpally police have booked a case against a woman and her son for trying to allegedly occupy the Rythu Vedika built by the government at Parveda village in Shankarpally of Ranga Reddy.
According to the police, the government had recently developed a land in the village under the supervision of M Chandra Prakash Reddy, the Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) as a meeting hall for farmers and Rythu Bandhu Samithis. It was being used to conduct workshops and training programmes for farmers on new farming and marketing techniques since the first week of February.
However, last week when the AEO reached the venue, he found the lock broke open and a new lock in place. After enquiries, he found the venue was locked by V Ajay and his mother V Santoshi Bai, who claimed that the land belonged to them. They further confined the AEO, who went to question them.
Based on the AEO’s complaint, the Shankarpally police booked a case and are investigating.
