Woman tries to end life as lover refused to marry in Karimnagar
According to police, Fathima Begam (24), a native of Hyderabad, fell in love with one Azam of Savaran street, Karimnagar, when she was staying at her aunt’s house three years ago
Karimnagar: Disappointed by her lover’s refusal for marriage, A 24-year-old woman tried to commit suicide by jumping into Lower Manair Dam on Wednesday afternoon. Alert Lake police, however, foiled her attempt and shifted her to Town-I police station for counseling.
According to police, Fathima Begam (24), a native of Hyderabad, fell in love with one Azam of Savaran street, Karimnagar, when she was staying at her aunt’s house three years ago.
On Wednesday, she came to Karimnagar and met Azam, who refused to marry her. Upset by his attitude, she decided to end her life by jumping into LMD.
Constables Narsimha Reddy and Ashok noticed her movements and questioned her. When she revealed her intent, they took her to Town-I police station for counseling.
