Woman’s body found in Dammaiguda lake; Police investigate cause of death

The police reported that local residents discovered the body in the morning and promptly informed the village head and authorities. Acting on the alert, the Jawaharnagar police arrived at the scene and, with the assistance of swimmers, recovered the body from the lake.

Hyderabad: The body of an unidentified woman was found floating in a lake at Dammaiguda in Jawaharnagar on Friday. Police are investigating if she died by suicide or was accidentally drowned.

According to the police, the local residents noticed the body in the morning and alerted the village head and police.

On receiving information, the Jawaharnagar police reached the spot and retrieved the body from the lake with the help of swimmers.

A case has been booked and officials said efforts are on to identify the woman. Recent missing cases registered in local police stations are being verified.

The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.
