Women celebrate Bathukamma in protest against Congress in Adilabad
Women in Mukhra (K) village of Adilabad district celebrated Bathukamma as a form of protest against the Congress government, accusing it of failing to implement six poll guarantees. They sang songs recalling the promises and demanded immediate action
Adilabad: Women expressed their displeasure against the government by celebrating the Bathukamma festival in protest at Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal on Thursday.
In large numbers, women gathered at a junction and celebrated the festival of flowers to highlight their anger at the Congress government’s failure to implement the six guarantees promised during the elections.
They sang songs recalling the promises and criticised the government for failing to keep them. The women said the party had duped the public after assuming power and demanded that the guarantees be implemented without delay.
