Women donate blood to mark International Women’s Day in Mancherial
Vanitha Vakku, with the Mancherial chapter of Lions Clubs International, organised a blood donation camp on International Women’s Day. Seventeen women donated blood, which will be provided free to accident victims, pregnant women and patients during medical emergencies

Mancherial: Vanitha Vakku, a women’s rights organisation, in collaboration with the Mancherial chapter of Lions Clubs International, organised a blood donation camp to mark International Women’s Day here on Saturday. The theme of the event was “Give to Gain.”
Women from different age groups voluntarily came forward to donate blood for the cause. They were felicitated for donating blood for those in need.
The organisers said 17 women donated blood during the camp. They added that the collected blood would be provided free of cost to road accident victims, pregnant women and patients facing medical emergencies.
They thanked the participants for showing interest in the initiative.
Madhusudhan Reddy of Lions Club, Vanitha Vakku founder-president Rangu Venukumar, members Gone Bagyalaxmi, Dr Annapurna, Jyotsna Chandradath, DMWO Rajeshwari, Kumari Chandrakala and Chiguru Manjula, among others, attended the programme.
