Hyderabad: Women-led startups from Telangana are attracting the attention of investors at the ongoing EXPO2020, the mega industry event happening in Dubai.
Various business engagements are happening as part of the ‘India Innovation Hub’, showcasing 500 startups from India under the guidance of Consul General of India in Dubai Dr Aman Puri and with the support of the Indian diaspora and prominent investor institutions. The participating women entrepreneurs will visit In5 at Dubai, a platform for entrepreneurs and startups. They will also attend sessions on pitching and market access and also network with local women leaders from Encubay, Dubai.
Telangana government-run WE-HUB that guides women-led enterprises with organisational management, financial remodelling, and financial linkages interventions, is participating in the event. “We-Hub has been working extensively in terms of enabling market access and credit facilitation to women entrepreneurs. World Expo 2020 offers a rich opportunity to women-led startups to explore the international market there,” said IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan.
“I believe technology has the potential to overcome challenges against sustainability. I am hoping to develop a better network and learn about the market here,” said architecture firm Founder and CEO Vijayadurga Koppisetti, who is part of the visiting delegates.
Deepthi Nathala, founder of HECOLL, is showcasing eco-friendly and sustainable fabric that blocks much of UV rays, filters pollution and kill viruses and bacteria upon contact.
Hilo Design, a fashion startup founded by sibling entrepreneurs Mouna Gummadi and Sahith Gummadi to deliver personalised clothing, is also part of the delegation.
Naga Mallika Valluru, co-founder of Radius EduTech, is showcasing the platform that can be used by companies to host annual general shareholder meetings. It also has Radius Exam, a platform for screening applicants at interviews.
