Women to lead seven ULBs out of nine in erstwhile Khammam
Seven of the nine urban local bodies in erstwhile Khammam, including Khammam Municipal Corporation, will be led by women following the finalisation of reservations for mayor and chairperson posts. Several posts have been reserved for women, SCs, STs and BCs

Khammam: Seven out of nine urban local bodies, including Khammam Municipal Corporation, in erstwhile Khammam would be led by women, with the reservation of mayor and chairperson posts being finalised on Saturday.
The Khammam mayor post was reserved for women (general). The Kallur municipal chairperson post was reserved for ST (general), Edulapuram for SC (women), while Sathupalli, Wyra and Madhira municipal chairperson posts were reserved for women (general).
In the newly created Kothagudem Municipal Corporation, the mayor post was reserved for ST (general). Of the 60 wards in the corporation, 11 wards were reserved for STs, 12 for SCs, seven for BCs, 16 for women (general) and 14 wards were unreserved.
Similarly, in the newly created Aswaraopet Municipality, the municipal chairperson post was reserved for women (general), while the Yellandu municipal chairperson post was reserved for BC (women).
