Hyderabad: Seasoned-campaigner Mamtha Kanojia struck 91 off 106 balls (9×4) while leg-spinner Bhogi Shravani took 4/20 as Hyderabad began their campaign with a 85-run win over Gujarat in the National senior women’s one-day cricket championship in Surat on Friday. After putting up 229 in 50 overs, Hyderabad restricted Gujarat to 144/9 in 50 overs.

Kanojia had a big partnership of 156 runs for the fourth wicket with Anuradha Nayak (70 off 80 balls 6×4) while G Trisha made 25. Chasing 230 for win, Gujarat lost their way as Shravani along with Yashasri (3/42) took wickets at regular intervals. G Trisha bowled a tight spell of 10-3-16-1.
