Warangal Rural: Government is trying to make Narsampet, the biggest town in the rural district, a model town, local MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy said after laying a foundation stone for construction of an integrated market at Narsampet on Monday.
He said that the integrated market would be in G+2 model with 54,000 square feet area and 8,000 square feet of parking area on the ground floor. “This model integrated market will have 46 meat stalls (mutton, chicken, fish), 72 stalls to sell vegetables, 18 fruit stalls, 10 flower stalls, five fish cutting stalls and six stalls for cleaning,” he said, and added that they were taking all steps to prevent inconvenience to those visiting the market. “The government will also construct a cold storage unit at a cost of Rs 50 lakh for farmers,” Reddy said.
Later, he interacted with vegetable vendors in an attempt to know their problems. The MLA advised them to shift to the model vegetable market, which was already constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crore with 92 stalls. Reddy thanked MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao for sanctioning funds for the development of Narsampet town.
The town is the main commercial centre for a region covering about 120 villages. The villages depend on Narsampet town for marketing their agricultural produce and for procuring their consumer needs.
