Worker killed in suspected chemical explosion at Badangpet

Hyderabad: A 43-year-old worker was killed on the spot in an explosion at Badangpet in Meerpet on Sunday.
The man, identified as Anoop (43), had reportedly arrived from Kolkata recently in search of employment.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the explosion was so severe that parts of the victim’s body were flung several metres away from the blast site.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the scene and shifted the remains for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.
Bomb Detection Squad personnel also reached the spot and examined the area.
Police suspect the incident may have been caused by a chemical explosion, possibly triggered when paint or another chemical substance was discarded or mishandled.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the blast.
