Hyderabad: With an aim to provide teachers a hands-on experience about how to teach STEM courses, Departments of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology at St Francis College for Women, is organising an international workshop. Being conducted in association with American Corner, the workshop on Effective Teaching of STEM Courses Online is being held from October 27 to October 30.

The inaugural session was attended by Dr David Moyer, Public Affairs Officer, Public Affairs section, the United States Consulate General, Hyderabad. The resource persons for the workshop are Dr Anil Kumar Challa – University of Alabama, Dr Magdalena Waleska Aldana Segura – US State Department, Prof P Castillo-Briceno – ULEAM University, Prof K Srinivas (NIEPA, New Delhi), Prof Mamatha Dadala (Registrar of SPMVV) and Dr Praveen Kumar Mamidala (TSWREIS).

The target audience are faculty from various colleges. The workshop aims at providing an insight to faculty on methodologies, resources, teaching skills, design and implement assessment strategies to enhance online teaching, a press release said.
