Hyderabad: Aster Prime Hospitals, Ameerpet, on Sunday organised a workshop on ‘Managing Airways of a Patient’ while they are under anaesthesia.
The Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme also featured discussions on various challenges posed by patients whose airways become difficult in managing while they are under anaesthesia, the press release said.
The day-long workshop anchored by Dr Kalyan, Dr CN Chandrasekhar and Dr C Uma Sreedevi from the department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive care, Aster Prime Hospitals, was attended by around 40 delegates from various hospitals and medical colleges.
The senior doctors explained various aspects of the subjects and also conducted demonstrative sessions to enable participants to understand the methods, usage of gadgets perfectly. When a patient is put under anaesthesia either for conducting surgery or putting him on a ventilator, securing an airway is the first important step thus enabling the patient to breathe properly and get oxygenation perfectly, they said.
