Peddapalli: World Environment Day was celebrated at NTPC’s Ramagundam and Telangana projects on Friday. The celebrations commenced with a Prabhat Pheri (environment awareness walk), which was flagged off by Executive Director, NTPC (Ramagundam & Telangana) Chandan Kumar Samanta.

The walk aimed to spread awareness on environmental protection, sustainable living and the collective responsibility towards preserving nature. A world environment day pledge was subsequently administered to all participants, reinforcing their commitment to environmental conservation and responsible resource utilization.

Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GeM) Children’s drawing competition, encouraging environmental awareness and creative expression among young minds.

As part of the celebrations, a mass plantation drive was organized in the township, during which 200 saplings were planted with active participation from employees, family members, association representatives and Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) children.
