World Tobacco Day: Police personnel, public advised to shun consumption of tobacco products
Adilabad SP urged the people to be cautious of attractive advertisements used by manufacturers of the tobacco products and not fall for them.

Adilabad: A day-long medical camp was organised for the benefit of staffers from the police department and their family members to mark World Tobacco Day here on Saturday. Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan formally inaugurated the camp held by the police department in association with the Adilabad chapter of Indian Dental Association.
Mahajan advised the staffers of the police department to avoid consumption of tobacco products that would cause diseases such as cancer, cardiac arrest, respiratory-related ailments. He opined that consumption of the tobacco products would ruin their lives and their families.
The senior police officer cited that doctors of RIMS-Adilabad perform at least three surgeries on patients diagnosed with oral cancer per month.
The superintendent told the public to be cautious of attractive advertisements used by manufacturers of the tobacco products. He urged them not to be duped by such advertisements. He was all praise for 15 dentists who voluntarily rendered services at the camp. He said that 200 staffers of the department and family members availed the services.
Additional SP B Surender, Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy, Inspectors B Sunil Kumar, Ch Karunakar Rao, K Phanidhar and many other police officials were present.
