Xiaomi unveils Xiaomi 15 series at MWC 2025: AI, Leica cameras, cutting-edge tech

Both devices run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, built on Android 15. The series comes equipped with AI-driven features for writing, speech recognition, image enhancement, and video recording. Additionally, Xiaomi has collaborated with Google to integrate Gemini AI into its apps, enabling smarter functionality across Notes, Calendar, and Clock.

Hyderabad: At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Xiaomi made headlines with the launch of its flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Both, equipped with everything that one can expect from AI-driven features and Leica camera enhancements to high-end hardware, would re-carve the premium smartphone experience.

Both smartphones run on Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. New in the series is the artificial intelligence tool for writing, speech recognition, image enhancement, and video shooting. Xiaomi has partnered with Google to add Gemini AI into its applications for providing intelligent help in Notes, Calendar, and Clock.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is a camera-centered powerhouse, offering a 6.73-inch AMOLED with 3,200 nits peak brightness and in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. A Leica-backed quad-camera: a 50MP 1-inch sensor, a 200MP periscope lens, a floating telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide camera. 4K video recording up to 120fps; and up to 60fps in Dolby Vision.

The Xiaomi 15, on the other hand, is slightly smaller on the display side with a 6.36-inch AMOLED, with a triple camera of a 50 MP Leica main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto sensor.

While the Xiaomi 15 is priced at €999 (around Rs 90,000), the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a starting price of €1,499 (around Rs 1,36,000). The details for their Indian launch will be announced on March 11.
