Karimnagar: Since yoga practice is helping a lot for patients to overcome the virus without any harm, district administration began yoga classes for the patients who are undergoing treatment in Regional Spots School Covid care center near Lower Manair Dam.

Yoga teacher Murali began yoga classes in the center on Friday. Besides minor exercises, different types of breathing exercises such as Kapalabathi, Anuloma-Viloma (alternative nostril), Bhastrika and others have also been practiced with patients.

Since coronavirus would damage the lungs, breathing exercise would help the patients to overcome the virus by enhancing lungs capacity.

District Collector K Shashanka, in a statement, said that the functioning capacity of the lungs would be strengthened with the regular practice of breathing exercises and moreover, people would be active through the day by practicing yoga.

He advised the corona patients, who were in home isolation, to practice yoga every day and overcome the virus quickly without any harm. Positive patients, who do not have facilities in their homes, have been admitted to Covid care center and provided treatment.

Patients have been provided better treatment under the supervision of doctors. Besides providing nutritious food, self-confidence has also been inculcated among the patients through different kinds of activities such as yoga and others.

It was very simple to get out of the virus if patients were confident and take medicine regularly, the Collector said.
