Hyderabad: A tragic incident unfolded under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate limits after a young couple ended their lives in separate incidents and places, unable to bear separation.

According to police, D Hithavarshini (20), daughter of Anjanna from Korvichalma village in Dandepally mandal of Mancherial district, was pursuing her B.Tech final year in a private college near Hyderabad. After returning from holidays, she ended her life by jumping before a speeding train between Bibinagar and Ghatkesar on Sunday.

Preliminary investigation revealed that her last phone call was with Vinay Babu (28), a youth from the same village. When police went to question him, they discovered that he had died by suicide by jumping into a well.

The police further recovered a suicide note allegedly written by Vinay Babu stating, “If not in this life, I will marry my beloved in the next birth,” confirming their relationship.

Police suspect the couple took the extreme step after their elders opposed their marriage.

While the Government Railway Police here are probing Hithavarshini’s death case, based on a complaint filed by Vinay Babu’s mother, a case has been registered by the local police in Mancherial.
