Hyderabad: A shocking incident took place in the city on Thursday when a young man attempted suicide by self-immolation in front of MLC Chintapandi Naveen alias Teenmar Mallanna’s office.

The youth, identified as Sai, allegedly resorted to the extreme step claiming that injustice was being done to the Backward Classes (BCs).

According to eyewitnesses, Sai reached Mallanna’s office and asked for him. After being told that Mallanna was not present, he reportedly stepped outside, poured petrol on himself and set himself ablaze.

Alert locals rushed to his rescue, dousing the flames and immediately shifting him to Gandhi Hospital. His condition remains critical.
