Young man dies by suicide hours after mother’s death in Medak

A 21-year-old man died by suicide hours after his mother allegedly died by suicide following a quarrel with her husband in Medak district. The young man was found hanging from a tree near Kolapally on Friday night, police said

Medak: Depressed over his mother’s death, a young man died by suicide just hours after her death at Maktha Lakshmapur village on Friday.

According to Pedda Shankarampet police, Nagadhar Bethamma (45), her husband Shivaiah and their son Praveen (21) were living in Dundigal area in Hyderabad.

While Shivaiah worked as an electrician, Bethamma worked as a maid. Praveen also supported the family by working as an electrician.

The couple had a serious argument over a petty issue on Friday afternoon, following which Bethamma allegedly died by suicide by hanging.

After seeing his mother lifeless, Praveen returned to his native village. He was found hanging from a tree on the outskirts of Kolapally, a neighbouring village, on Friday night.

However, the incident came to light on Saturday morning as the family delayed informing the local police. The incident left the family and villagers in shock.

A case was registered and an investigation was under way
