Sangareddy: A young shepherd, Bangari Raju (25), a resident of Peddamma Gudem in Jinnaram mandal, drowned in a check dam while guiding his sheep across the water body on Tuesday.
Raju was grazing his sheep near the check dam on the outskirts of the village. While leading the flock across the structure, he moved into deeper water and, as he did not know how to swim, drowned.
The police registered a case and retrieved the body from the check dam.
