Siddipet: In a rare gesture, a young software engineer from Siddipet donated Rs 6 lakh to former minister T Harish Rao to utilise the amount to help the poor and needy in the town.
Rohit, son of Sunitha and Srinivas, residents of Siddipet town, had approached Harish Rao four years ago seeking his help to secure admission to a prestigious engineering college in Hyderabad.
Rohit joined the college and performed exceptionally well in academics. After successfully completing his studies, Rohit secured a placement in an MNC with an annual package of Rs 12 lakh.
In a bid to give back to society through Harish Rao, Rohit and his parents decided to donate half of his first year’s annual package to the former minister. Overwhelmed by Rohit’s gesture, Rao assured them that he would spend the amount for the intended purpose. The former minister also felicitated Rohit and his parents for their decision.
