Hyderabad: Young tutors and volunteers from Akshaya Vidya, an NGO, visited the Hyderabad Bharosa Centre on Friday. The tutors, all intermediate and degree students, volunteer and assist young children from downtrodden families in their studies.
Each student teaches a group of 30 children from slums in the city, with the NGO helping over 1,500 children. City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, interacting with the young tutors, applauded the efforts of the foundation. He encouraged them to continue their efforts to report crime by anticipating anti-social elements among people in proximity
Shikha Goel, Additional Commissioner (Crimes and SIT), thanked the tutors for their service in the slums. She Teams and Bharosa staff conducted a session on their functioning, approachability and availability.
