Youngster hacked to death by brother over land dispute in Mancherial

A land dispute between two brothers in Chandravelli village, Bellampalli mandal, escalated into violence on Sunday when Chandu allegedly attacked his younger sibling Rajesh with an axe, killing him on the spot.

Mancherial: A man was hacked to death by his sibling following a land dispute at Chandravelli village in Bellampalli mandal on Sunday.

Police said that Sadaveni Rajesh (28) was attacked with an axe by his elder brother Chandu. Rajesh suffered profuse bleeding and died on the spot. They had been at loggerheads over a piece of land for quite a long time.

Chandu who nursed a grudge against Rajesh picked up an argument with him. In a fit of rage, he reportedly murdered Rajesh in full public view. Elders of the community tried to resolve the dispute, but failed.

They imposed a fine on the two for quarrelling at regular intervals. Based on a complaint received from Rajesh’s mother, a murder case has been registered against Chandu. Investigations are underway.
