Youngster kills father for assaulting grandmother in Nirmal
Gurram Manideep was apprehended for strangulating his father Mutyam (47) to death with a sari after beating him on Sunday night.
Nirmal: A man was arrested on charges of murdering his father at Muktapur village in Nirmal Rural mandal on Tuesday.
Nirmal Rural Inspector Ramakrishna said that Gurram Manideep was apprehended for strangulating his father Mutyam (47) to death with a sari after beating him on Sunday night.
On being interrogated, Manideep confessed to committing the crime after Mutyam assaulted his mother Venkatamma, the grandmother of Manideep. He said Mutyam had picked up an argument with his grandmother and thrashed her under the influence of liquor, after which he tried to cover up the murder by stating that Mutyam died of an ailment.
Venkatamma disclosed that Manideep had attacked her son. Gurram Rajeshwar, a cousin brother of Mutyam lodged a complaint with police, after which a case was registered and Manideep was arrested.
