Youth beats his grandmother to death in Khammam

A youth in Sakhinavidu village, Khammam, allegedly beat his 63-year-old grandmother to death with an iron rod following an argument. The accused, addicted to alcohol, ganja, and betting, is under police investigation after Madhira CI and Yerrupalem SI registered a case

Khammam: A youth has allegedly beaten his grandmother to death at Sakhinavidu village of Yerrupalem mandal in the district.

According to police, the accused Chirala Sai was staying with his grandmother Shakhamudi Padmavati (63) after his parents died some time back. Sai was said to be addicted to alcohol, ganja, and betting.

Following an argument with his grandmother on Thursday night, the accused, who was under the influence of alcohol, hit the elderly woman on the head with an iron rod, killing her on the spot.

Madhira CI Madhu and Yerrupalem SI Ramesh Kumar visited the spot, registered a case, and launched an investigation into the incident.
