Nalgonda: Just a few hours before he was to leave for India, a youth from Nalgonda district Uppuganti Praveen Rao (27) committed suicide by jumping from a building in Canada last night.

Praveen Rao was son of Narayana Rao and Hymavathi, natives of Akuthatapally hamlet of Kandukuru grama panchayat in Dindui mandal of Nalgonda district.

According to his relatives, Praveen Rao went to Canada in 2015 to pursue higher education. After completion of a course from a college, he took a petrol bunk on lease and was running the business. He recently got permanent resident status to stay in Canada. He had no financial problems, the relatives said, adding that he had booked flight tickets for Thursday to reach India on Friday.

According to sources, Praveen Rao went into depression after his parents rejected his proposal to marry a girl who was his friend, and resorted to the extreme step.
