Youth in death gallows gets life imprisonment in another case in Warangal

According to the prosecution, Yadav, a native of Daulatpur in Bihar, had sexually assaulted the minor daughter of Rafiqa several times and impregnated her.

Warangal Urban: Sanjay Kumar Yadav (24), a Bihari youth, who was handed down death penalty on October 10 this year for killing nine people including a three-year-old child in the sensational Gorrekunta murder case near Warangal city, was sentenced to life imprisonment in a POCSO case by the same court here on Friday.

Judge of the First Additional District and Sessions Court and POCSO Special Court, Warangal, Kavuri Jaya Kumar pronounced the judgment convicting him under  Section 376 (2N) (3), 506 IPC, SEC 5 (L) R / W 6 of POCSO Act-2012.

According to the prosecution, Yadav, a native of Daulatpur in Bihar, had sexually assaulted the minor daughter of Rafiqa several times and impregnated her. The girl underwent abortion as per the wishes of her relatives. The police collected residual tissue of the abortion and sent it to the FSL besides seizing items from the crime scene including the cell phone and submitted them to the court.

Geesugonda police filed the charge-sheet within three months after registering the POCSO case. The court, which recorded the testimony of witnesses and examined scientific evidences, convicted Yadav. The accused, who allegedly had an affair with Rafiqa (37), took her in a train and throttled her to death before dumping the body near Nidubrolu in Tadepally railway station limits of West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Warangal Police Commissioner P Pramod Kumar congratulated DCP Venkatalakshmi in-charge, Mamunur ACP Shamsunder, Geesugonda Inspector Jupallay Sivaramaiah court constables  Venkateshwarlu and Lingaiah for successfully collecting evidences against the accused and ensuring life term in the POCSO case.
