Youth missing after fire mishap on boats in Hyderabad’s Hussain Sagar
Following the missing report by Ajay’s family, the civic authorities and police have launched a combined search operation in the lake
Hyderabad: A youngster from Nagaram, identified as Ajay, is missing following the fire accident on two boats at Hussain Sagar on Sunday night.
On Monday morning, Ajay’s family reached Hussain Sagar and informed police officials that he had been missing since the previous night. They requested a search operation to locate him.
Following the request, civic authorities and police launched a combined search operation in the lake with two rescue teams. More teams may be deployed, if needed. As per available information, Ajay’s friends who accompanied him were safe.
On Sunday night, a fire broke out in two boats in Hussain Sagar. The fire reportedly erupted due to bursting of firecrackers as part of the ‘Bharat Mata Maha Aarti’ programme organised at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road.
There were 15 people on the boats when the mishap occurred and they luckily escaped unhurt. The fire spread from one boat to another, severely damaging both the boats.
