Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Cybercrime police arrested one person on charges of stalking a woman by creating a fake Instagram profile.
T Bharath Kumar (22) of Mahboobnagar, created an Instagram profile with a pseudo name and started sending vulgar messages to the woman and demanded money.
“Bharath Kumar searched Instagram accounts and contacted women. Afterwards, he would ask them to chat on Google Hangouts and collect their personal details only to harass and blackmail them using a pseudo Instagram account,” S Harinath, ACP (Cybercrime), Rachakonda said.
Based on a complaint from a victim, the police registered a case and arrested him. He was produced before court and remanded.
