Peddapalli: A mentally disturbed youth from Odisha committed suicide by walking on the tracks against a speeding train. Though the passengers at the railway station raised an alarm, the youth could not be saved. This shocking incident occurred at Ramagundam railway station on Sunday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Sanjay Kumar (28), who walked on the tracks even as the Rajadhani superfast express train proceeding towards Bengaluru from New Delhi, approached.
According to police, a native of Khaira in Odisha, Sanjay was staying with his grandfather in Hyderabad and was working in a hardware shop. He was suffering from mental illness and was also undergoing treatment for the last three years.
Sanjay’s health condition deteriorated over the last few days and on Sunday, he arrived at the Ramagundam railway station and committed suicide. The railway police registered a case.
