YouTube releases documentary on Telangana YouTube channel, My Village Show
The online video sharing and social media platform have shot the work and gist of content that the channel does by visiting the village and travelling with the creators for four days.
Hyderabad: From having hardly 1,000 subscribers to now 2.2 million, My Village Show, the YouTube channel that was started by youth from Lambadipalli village in Karimnagar district, has come a long way.
Another feather is now added to their cap with YouTube itself releasing a documentary on My Village Show.
The online video sharing and social media platform have shot the work and gist of content that the channel does by visiting the village and travelling with the creators for four days.
As part of YouTube Originals’ Creator Spotlight series, it presented the life-changing journey of Srikanth Sriram, who started the channel back in 2012. The documentary showed how it truly requires a village to transform a village, one sketch at a time.
My Village Show is the first village-based channel in Telugu. It uploads videos that represent the village’s lifestyle and culture by adding some fun to it. The channel went global when it released the desi-style version of the Kiki challenge. The team’s biggest hit to date is Village lo Drunk and Drive, which has more than 30 million views.
Earlier, CNN featured ‘My Village Show’ with the team, including Gangavva, in their ‘Tech for Good’ series.
