She had announced her support to the Congress during the recent assembly polls in Telangana to end the BRS rule.
In a post on X, Sharmila later said she was delighted on merging the YSR Telangana Party with the Congress.
“The party that my father belonged to, the party that he lived in, that he served tirelessly, and breathed his last in. This moment would make him most ecstatic and nothing can be more heartening than this homecoming for me,” she said.
