Yummy cakes straight out of your dreams

Hyderabad-based Sai Sunaina quit her day job to pursue baking, and is now delivering mouth-watering cakes to even celebrities

While most of us choose security over happiness, Kalluru Sai Sunaina was brave enough to do the opposite. She quit her job and followed her passion of becoming a successful entrepreneur. With persistence and determination, she proved herself as one of the best bakers in Hyderabad. Her Rasmalai cake is simply mouth-watering and quite popular in the city.

So, how did it all start? The 27-year-old launched Sunaina’s Fairy Cake in May which became famous in a short span of time. She took all the right steps and soon enough she was delivering her cakes to even celebrities. “‘I believe that hard work and patience can make anyone successful in their life. Before making my way into this field, I was a floor manager.


But since my childhood my interest lay in baking so I decided to tell my parents about quitting my job. To my surprise, they supported and encouraged me throughtout my transition,” says Sunaina, adding, ” Initially, I started working for fourteen hours a day as people from different places in the city would place orders.”

She has taken up close to 1,500 orders so far. “I don’t want to limit myself just with cakes; I make ghee sweets, putharekulu, chocolates muffins, buttercream frosting, photocakes, cupcakes and macarons. We customize the cakes according to customers’ choice and we also make sure to discuss and understand their concepts while making themed cakes,” says Sunaina.

Sunaina’s firecracker-themed chocolates was a hit during the Deepavali season. “This Deepavali, I wanted people to enjoy eating special chocolates which were uniquely customized. We even introduced some healthy cookies for health-conscious people,” says this young entrepreneur, whose products start from 1,000 rupees.

“Thanks to social media, it became easy for me to reach people even in a pandemic. We make sure we take all the safety measures while working. People can reach us on Instagram and Facebook at Sunaina’s Fairy Cake,” she shares.

Sunaina even won an award in Bharatanatyam from Andhra Balananda Sangham and Adarsha Mahila Puraskar Award from Nallamallis Adarsa Mahila Charitable Trust.
