Hyderabad: Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, which is holding its 136th edition of jewellery exhibition in Hyderabad between October 2 and 4 is helping jewellers generate business and tide over the slump experienced during Covid times.

While large jewellers are able to sail through tough economic times, through its exhibition platform, the company is helping small and medium jewellers generate additional sales.

Syed Zakir Ahmed, chairman, Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, told Telangana Today, “We have been conducting exhibitions since 1999 to promote jewellery brands and over the years have established close ties with major jewellers across the country. The year 2020 was a tough year due to Covid, but in 2021, sales are gradually returning to 60-80 per cent levels. India is now opening up and particularly in Hyderabad positivity is returning for designer jewellery. In 2022, the sales are expected to reach over 80 per cent.”

“In the current edition, over 30 jewellers from across the country are taking part, including those jewellers who are for the first time showcasing their jewellery in an expo. This is the third time we are holding the exhibition in Hyderabad this year. Pan-India, on an average, we have been holding 4-5 expos a year. Going forward, we hope to tie up with jewellers from tier-2 and tier-3 cities in Telangana and other parts of India,” he added.

The current edition, which is a special Diwali edition of designer jewellery, displays over 1,00,000 new designs along with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, pearls and other precious & semi-precious stones crafted on gold, platinum and silver.
