Kothagudem: All India Anti-Terrorist Front (AIATF) national Chairman Maninderjeet Singh Bitta asked students to cultivate patriotic spirit and to be ready to make any sacrifice for the country. He was on a day’s visit to Kothagudem on Thursday. The former Punjab minister along with Shyamala Gopalan Educational Society founder N Suresh Reddy offered prayers at Peddamma Thalli Temple at Jagannadhapuram near Paloncha in the district.
On the occasion Bitta presented panchaloha idols of Sridevi, Bhudevi and Venkateswara Swamy to a Kakatiya era Sridevi Bhudevi Sameta Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Gudipadu village in Paloncha mandal on behalf of the Shyamala Gopalan Educational Society. The idols were handed over to Peddamma Thalli Temple Committee office bearers M Ramalingam S Srinivasa Reddy, Nandi Botlu and Chinta Nagaraju in order to ensure their safekeeping as the Gudipadu temple was being rebuilt.
Bitta promised to do his part for the development of the temple. He lauded Suresh Reddy’s efforts in developing the historic temple and services activities being conducted by the society in the education, environmental protection, health care and social development. The Punjab leader, popularly known as ‘Zinda Shaheed’ as he survived multiple assassination attempts, interacted with students and told them that patriotism was a noble sentiment land everyone must love their motherland.
The society founder Suresh Reddy expressed his pleasure at Bitta’s visit to Kothagudem and said his legendary life and patriotic spirit would inspire the students and future generations. Later in the day Bitta visited Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Temple at Bhadrachalam. He told the media that he would discuss the matter of the temple development with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and try to develop it as Ayodhya of South. The issue of railway connectivity to Bhadrachalam would be taken to PM’s notice.
