Khammam: The special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has been completed and the district administration is geared up to take up the next phase of work, informed district Collector Divakara TS.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday he stated that the digitisation of as many as 1,085,927 enumeration forms (87.31 percent) has been completed in the district. Around 43,131 persons were not mapped and notices would be issued to them in accordance with the regulations.

Nearly 132,736 anomalies were identified in the district, representing 10.67 percent of the total forms. The anomalies were related to discrepancies in name spellings and age gaps of less than 15 years between parents and children. These would not be treated merely as data errors; instead, necessary corrections would be made after conducting field-level inquiries to verify the facts.

Divakara informed that around 1,57,854 voters in the district had not resubmitted their enumeration forms. During field-level inquiries the staff found the presence of 33,380 deceased voters, 11,004 duplicate voters while 1,01,000 voters were permanently relocated to other areas.

Another 11,000 individuals were unable to submit their enumeration forms for various reasons. Eligible voters who have not yet submitted their enumeration forms would have another opportunity to do so between August 17 and September 16, he said.

He explained that they could submit the necessary details and supporting documents, along with a declaration stating that they do not hold voting rights elsewhere. Similarly, eligible citizens wishing to register as new voters could apply using Form-6 by submitting documents prescribed by the ECI to verify their date of birth.
