Khammam: Forest officials have taken 10 persons into custody for killing a wild deer in the forests of Rangapuram village in Enkoor mandal in the district on Friday.

Karepalli FRO Siddarth Reddy and Buradaraghapuram section officer Veerabhadra Rao told the media that the accused have laid an electric trap to kill the deer. Following a tip off the accused were taken into custody while they were shifting the creatures’ meat on a motorbike, they said.


Cases were booked against the accused under provisions of the Wild Life (protection) Act, the officials added.
