100 stray dogs allegedly poisoned in Yacharam, post-mortem conducted

Hyderabad: A post-mortem of stray dogs that were allegedly poisoned to death in Yacharam Gram Panchayath was conducted by veterinary doctors on Thursday.
The Yacharam police had registered a case against the governing body of the Gram Panchayath Yacharam following the killing of 100 stray dogs by injecting a poisonous substance.
The case was registered following a complaint made by Stay Animal Foundation against the village sarpanch, ward members, and the panchayat secretary.
The local workers had dug up a big trench and dumped the dogs after they died due to poisoning. The animal activists identified the place and on Thursday, the dogs were exhumed and a post-mortem was conducted.
The police are investigating the case.
