Nirmal: Government Whip Balka Suman said on Wednesday that 102 buildings named as Sammakka Sarakka Bhavans would be built soon in the district to help women members of self-help groups to conduct meetings. These will be a first-of-its-kind initiative in the State, he said.
Speaking after handing over a cheque for Rs 12 crore to members of 246 SHGs in Chennur on Wednesday, Suman said the facilities will help the women members in organising meetings and discuss their issues once completed. He advised them to utilise the buildings and achieve financial empowerment, setting an example to their counterparts in other States.

He instructed the officials concerned to make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event organised once in 12 years. He said that the Chennur segment would host a ceremony reflecting the image of Telangana.
The government whip then participated in a social media meeting of activists of the TRS party belonging to Chennur Assembly segment at a function hall held in Kyathanaplli. He advised them to extensively promote welfare schemes and developmental activities of the government, besides countering statements of Opposition parties on social media platforms.
He earlier chaired a general body meeting of Chennur municipality in Chennur and added that steps were being taken to beautify the town and lay internal roads. He said that basic amenities would be improved and major challenges were going to be addressed soon.
