117 candidates file nominations for Khammam municipal polls on Saturday

Khammam: A total of 117 candidates have filed their nominations for Khammam Municipal Corporation elections on the second day of receiving nominations on Saturday.

They filed 137 nomination papers with many candidates submitting over two sets of nomination papers. The total number of nominations filed as on Saturday was 141.


TRS candidates have submitted 81 nominations, Congress candidates 24, BJP 22, CPI (M) 3 and TDP 2. No nominations were filed by CPI yet, while nine independent candidates have submitted their nominations.
