12-year-old boy critically injured in kite accident at Balapur

A 12-year-old boy from Nandanavanam, sustained severe burn injuries after coming into contact with live electrical wiring while attempting to retrieve a kite stuck in a tree at Balapur.

Hyderabad: A 12-year-old boy suffered severe injuries when he received an electric shock while attempting to retrieve a kite at Balapur under Meerpet police station limits on Wednesday evening.

The boy, Aravind, a Class V student and a resident of the Nandanavanam area, climbed onto the rooftop of a nearby building to take down a kite that had got stuck in a tree. During the attempt, he reportedly came into contact with live electrical wiring, leading to a sudden short circuit.

Aravind suffered critical burn injuries to his body and was immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital. His condition is said to be serious.

The Meerpet police have launched an investigation.
