GHMC clears 7,265 tonnes of solid waste in special sanitation drive
The GHMC sanitation wing has removed over 7,000 tonnes of waste, including construction debris, as part of a special sanitation programme. Students were also educated on waste segregation to support Hyderabad’s transformation into a cleaner city.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) sanitation wing has cleared 5,406 metric tons of waste and removed 1,859 metric tons of construction waste , totalling 7,265 metric tons of extra waste.
The GHMC in a press release on Thursday said the special sanitation programme has so far been undertaken in 4,430 areas, points, foot-over-bridges (FoBs), flyovers, garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) and parks within the 300 wards under GHMC’s jurisdiction.
As part of the drive, students were educated on separating wet, dry and hazardous waste and disposing of it in designated bins, with the aim of helping transform Hyderabad into a clean city.
