13 lost mobile phones worth Rs 4 lakh recovered via CEIR portal in Khammam

The Khammam Commissionerate IT Cell recovered 13 lost mobile phones worth Rs 4 lakh using the CEIR portal. So far, over 2,200 mobiles have been retrieved from more than 4,400 reported cases, officials confirmed. Appreciation was extended to the IT team.

Khammam: As many as 13 lost mobile phones were tracked through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and handed over to their owners, informed Additional DCP (Law and order) Prasad Rao.

The commissionerate IT cell team tracked the mobile phones after the owners lodged a complaint on the CEIR portal. The recovered phones were worth about R. 4 lakh. Mobile phones costing between Rs 50, 000 and Rs 10, 000 were tracked, he said.


Prasad Rao revealed that nearly 4483 mobile phones have been reported lost on the CEIR portal under Khammam commissionerate and 2, 276 mobile phones have been traced and recovered so far.

The additional DCP congratulated IT Cell SI Satyanarayana and the technical team for playing a key role in the recovery of cell phones.
