Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha handed over 142 mobile phones recovered through the CEIR portal to their owners. Police said 3,717 handsets had been recovered from 10,420 complaints received through the portal so far.

Cyberabad police traced and returned 1,061 lost and misplaced mobile phones worth Rs 3.20 crore to their owners. The devices were located through the CEIR system and recovered by police teams from different parts of the country using technology.

The Balapur police recovered 24 mobile phones worth Rs 3.5 lakh that were recently lost or stolen. The recovery was made using the CEIR portal, and the phones were returned to their owners. Citizens were urged to report missing devices promptly

The Khammam Commissionerate IT Cell recovered 13 lost mobile phones worth Rs 4 lakh using the CEIR portal. So far, over 2,200 mobiles have been retrieved from more than 4,400 reported cases, officials confirmed. Appreciation was extended to the IT team.

The phones were recovered by the law and order police and other wings using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal

The Kothagudem SP Rohith Raju handed over the recovered phones to their owners at his office here on Wednesday.

Officials said special teams have been formed all over the Cyberabad Police jurisdiction for tracing lost or stolen mobile phones of citizens, with the help of C.E.I.R.

GRP officials requested passengers to be careful about their belongings and if any mobile phone theft occurs in railway stations then block their mobile phones with IMEI numbers in CEIR portal immediately by logging at www.ceir.gov.in

The State Police has successfully recovered 50,788 mobile devices from April 20 last year, to November 3 this year.

Of these phones, 135 were recovered by Madhapur CCS, 140 by Balanagar CCS, 101 by Medchal CCS, 133 by Rajendranagar CCS, 72 by Shamshabad CCS, 105 by Medchal Zone, and 101 by the IT Cell.

Superintendent of Police Chennuri Rupesh said that he constituted a special team to recover the mobile phones to act on complaints

The CEIR portal application was put to use by the GRP in April 2024, and the 210 mobile phones were recovered in last two months.

Police said several petitioners have approached complaining about their lost, stolen or misplaced mobile phones. All petitions were investigated.
