13-month-old toddler dies in Abdullapurmet after being run over by auto trolley
A 13-month-old boy, Lohith, died on the spot after being run over by an auto trolley while trying to reach a puppy in Abdullapurmet, Hyderabad. Police have booked the driver for negligence causing death and taken him into custody.
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 13-month-old toddler was run over by an auto trolley when he was allegedly trying to get hold of a puppy while playing near his house in Abdullapurmet on Monday.
The toddler, Lohith, was playing in front of the house when the incident occurred.
As per available information, Lohith, who while playing alone found a puppy in the neighbourhood and started playing with it. During this, it sneaked under a parked auto trolley. Lohith, who was following it, also went under the trolley. It was then that his father, who missed noticing the toddler underneath, started the vehicle.
He came under the front tyre on the right side of the auto trolley and suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot. His mother, who realised what happened, rushed to his rescue and alerted the neighbours.
The Abdullapurmet police have booked a case of negligence causing death and are investigating.
