Kothagudem: As many as 15 lakh saplings have been distributed to households in Kothagudem district as part of Haritha Haram, District Collector D Anudeep said on Monday.
The saplings were distributed as part of the State government decision to give six saplings to each household during Palle, Pattana Pragathi programme. The divisional panchayat officers have to conduct random checks on the distribution of saplings and submit reports.
The Collector who held a video conference with APOs, MPOs, MPDOs and mandal special officers on Monday said that reports should be without any lapses and action would be taken against concerned officials if there were any discrepancies found in the reports.
Anudeep said he would take up surprise inspections in the villages soon. If any of the villagers complained that they have not received saplings the concerned MPDO would be punished, he warned, advising the officials to stop the practice of submitting inaccurate reports.
Referring to saplings distribution, he said another one lakh saplings have to be distributed to the households. As part of avenue plantation saplings have to be planted by the side of internal roads in gram panchayats and municipal wards.
The lands identified for setting up large Palle Prakruti Vanams have to be levelled for taking massive avenue plantation, he said while directing mandal and village level officials to take up Palle Nidra programme to address problems in the villages.
The officials have to take up Padayatra in the villages to identify the issues, Anudeep said while adding that Aswaraopet mandal was lagging behind other mandals in terms of development works implementation.
The Collector directed the District Panchayat Officer Ramakanth to transfer the gram panchayat secretary of Bachuvarigudem, to issue show-cause notice to Gummadipalli gram panchayat secretary along with memos to concerned MPO and APM for neglecting their duties.
